The 56,500 sf new middle school is a prototype design. The design embraces the “school within a school” concept and is arranged in Houses in which all disciplines are taught within the same group of classrooms providing crossover of topics from one discipline to another. A new component to the design of the middle school is the “Exploratory,” which includes music, art, and the latest technology program, comparable in intent to the latest educational thinking in the country today. The school is zoned for after houses use of community facilities without compromising security and gives high visibility to the public areas.
